OwnLocal was founded by Lloyd Armbrust and Jason Novek in 2007 and received funding from Y Combinator, Baseline Ventures, Lerer Media Ventures, Paul Buchheit, Joshua Schachter, and Alex Moore in 2010. Today, OwnLocal technology powers more than 100 publications and is growing rapidly. We’ve been featured in publications like the Wall Street Journal, TechCrunch, the Washington Post, and many more. Founder
Jason remembers writing his first BASIC program when he was 8 years old and has shunned normal social behavior in favor of tinkering around with Linux and software development since he started shaving. In his free time he lugs around a camera, turns barley into beer and repeats mundane trivia that he learns on Wikipedia.

Vice President of Sales and Strategy
Lamar Romero is the strategy and development guy at OwnLocal. Lamar’s our resident old guy and utilizes his 15+ years of previous experience with Dell and other great companies to ensure everything and everybody at OwnLocal has a nice organized flow. His primary mission is to make community partnerships a win-win for everyone involved.

He found that being a husband and father kept him plenty busy and well-entertained. He’s also an avid reader.
