We visit a lot of publications that are laying off employees. They think it’s smart to be cutting. Well, they have no choice, right? Times are tough.
Well, I disagree. While there are some people who should be cut, there are people out there who you need to be hiring more of and faster.
The truth is you can shrink yourself to profits in the short run but you need to grow your business in the long run to have a future.
You need to build. You need to be hiring talented people who will help you invent your future. This isn’t a storm and you can’t hunker down until it passes.
You need to get excited and ambitious. You need to grow again in the right ways.
